How do other doors compare?
Others Martin
Finger Shield
Most other brands provide no finger protection. It is possible to crush, sever, or severely injure your fingers in an unprotected garage door section joint.

Helps protect you and your family from serious section joint-related finger injury from outside the garage. (Standard up to 9'high doors.)
Heavy-Duty New Safer Hinges
Most other brand doors use 18-gauge hinges with a heavy- duty upgrade at 16-guage. Most non-Martin hinges allow finger access between the dangerous joints from the inside of the garage.

Helps prevent finger access in between section joints inside the garage. (Standard on all doors up to 24' wide x 20' high). Martin uses heavy-duty 14- gauge hinges.
Long Life Torsion Springs
Most other brand torsion springs are prone to rust and early breakage. Most are rated at 6,000 to 10,000 cycles and will only last about 4 - 9 years.

Exclusive Martin galvanized torsion springs help to prevent rust. 20,000 - 30,000 cycles, (double-triple the industry's premium).
Heavy Lift Cables
Most other brand doors use 3/32" lift cables without a thimble or "sheath" for extra cable reinforcement. Breaks commonly occur in the loop, where the door's total weight rests.

Martin's 1/8" steel lift cables are thicker and stronger than most other brand doors. Loop reinforcement "sheaths" are standard.

Premium Rollers
Most other brand doors use an all plastic wheel with no bearings or bushings, contributing to sluggish door operation and lower spring life.

Martin's rollers are case-hardened steel with a "Delrin"cover, 11 ball bearings in a permanent synthetic grease. No other roller in the industry is quite like it
Extended Size Availability
.Most other brands have very limited sizing. Custom sizes are either not available or take weeks to deliver.

Martin's sizing is available in most 1" wide increments. We make your door to fit your opening right down to the inch without delay.
Safety Glass-Alternative Windows
Most all brands use glass windows. Windows are known to break from baseballs or simply from long-term opening and closing. Glass has little flexibility. Glass windows are usually available in clear only. Unpainted frames may fade or "yellow" quickly

Instead of glass, MARTIN uses a safer plexiglass called "Acrylite." It is resistant to rot and haze from the sun and is many times stronger than glass. Tinted or pebbled windows are optional. Frames are painted (2 coats) to match door color.
Premium Manufacturer Warranty
Some brand doors have a 10 - 25 year warranty on section rust-through only, excluding most hardware. Local dealers may extend the warranty, but owners should try to make sure the warranty is from the manufacturer.
